Loose Women star Brenda Edwards has opened up about how her battle with cancer prompted her to make significant changes to her diet. The 55-year-old TV personality, who first rose to fame on The X Factor UK in 2005, revealed that her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015 was a life-changing experience that made her reevaluate her approach to health and well-being.

Reflecting on her cancer scare, Brenda shared with the Daily Mirror newspaper, “Having cancer changes anybody because you face a life of uncertainty, so it does make you appreciate life every day. I’m very grateful for what life brings me. I’ve always been a go-getter but now I’m even more so.” She emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities and trying new things, acknowledging that resilience and positivity have been key to her journey.

Following her health scare, Brenda took it upon herself to research and adapt her diet to better support her overall health and recovery. She mentioned cutting down on processed foods, increasing her intake of vegetables like spinach and broccoli, and favouring lean proteins such as salmon and chicken. Brenda also made a conscious effort to reduce her consumption of sugars and white wine, opting for gin and tonic as a healthier alternative.
