A tragic incident unfolded in Cardiff as a married couple, Christine and Stephen Jefferies, were discovered dead with gunshot wounds to their heads. The grim discovery was made by their daughter on Saturday, October 5, at the family home in Morfa Crescent, Trowbridge. After receiving no response at the door, she used her key to enter the property and found her parents deceased in their bedroom. Paramedics confirmed the deaths of Mrs. Jefferies, 72, and Mr. Jefferies, 74, around 2.50pm that day.
A post-mortem examination conducted at the Princess of Wales Hospital concluded that both victims had succumbed to gunshot wounds to the right temple. Sadly, their pet cocker spaniel was also found dead at the scene. The inquest into the couple’s tragic demise has been adjourned to allow for further investigations. The police recovered a gun from the property, and South Wales Police have stated that they are not currently seeking anyone else in relation to the deaths.
