Frantic search for missing man after police find car

A frantic search is currently underway for a missing 78-year-old man, Owen Hammond, after his car was discovered in a village in Gwynedd, Wales. Owen was last seen driving through the Maentwrog area around 11:25 am on Sunday. His vehicle, a blue Kia Niro, was found near Bydwyn, Llanbedr, close to Shell Island off the A496. Authorities have disclosed that Owen, who is from the Salford area, may be wearing a white top with dark jeans, grey hair, and brown eyes.

Chief Inspector Robert Rands of North Wales Police has issued an urgent appeal for information regarding Owen’s whereabouts. He stated, “Multi-agency searches are underway in the Llanbedr area following Owen’s car being found. I am appealing for anyone who may have seen Owen or his car after 11.25am yesterday morning, to contact us.” Inspector Rands further urged individuals with dashcam or other footage of Owen or his car to come forward. North Wales Live reports that police are providing Owen’s family with regular updates on the investigation.
