Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal attack on an XL bully dog in Slough, as reported by Wales Online. Thames Valley Police stated that the dog was deliberately attacked and seriously injured in the Berkshire town on September 29. Despite being taken for emergency treatment, the dog succumbed to its injuries.
According to a force spokesman, the arrests of the two men, aged 20 and 22, took place on Friday at an address in Slough, where a quantity of cannabis was also discovered. The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences including criminal damage, causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B, and possession of an offensive weapon. The 22-year-old, on the other hand, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B.
Both men, residents of Slough, were released on police bail until January. Additionally, a 31-year-old man from Slough was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B and was likewise released on police bail until January.
Thames Valley Police officers are continuing their investigation into the fatal attack on the dog, which occurred on Burnham Lane around 6.05pm on September 29. The breed of the dog has not been confirmed, but it is believed to be an XL bully breed.
The spokesman further highlighted that the arrests followed the discovery of a quantity of cannabis during a search at the address in Slough. Apart from the arrests related to the brutal attack on the dog, these individuals are also potentially linked to drug-related offences.
