An 85-year-old man has tragically died over a week after being involved in a collision in Gwynedd, Wales. North Wales Police are conducting an investigation following the man’s passing after a crash on the A487 last month. The elderly man was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in the incident that occurred on Sunday, September 22, at the junction of the A487 turning onto the B4411 from Glandwyfach near Garndolbenmaen.
The collision occurred around 2.30 pm between a red Vauxhall Insignia and a red Honda Jazz. Following the crash, the 85-year-old man, who was in the Honda Jazz, was rushed by ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Another passenger from the Insignia sustained minor injuries and was taken to Ysbyty Alltwen in Porthmadog for treatment.
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit has appealed for any witnesses or individuals with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward to aid in the ongoing investigation.
