A tragic incident has struck the community of Connah’s Quay, Flintshire, as the life of 34-year-old Sarah Thompson was cut short. Sarah, a devoted mother of two – Paige, aged 16, and Zaine, aged 10, was discovered deceased in her bed by friends last month. The news of her untimely passing has reverberated through the hearts of those who knew her, especially as her children were described as “her world”.
In response to the devastating loss, a Gofundme campaign was launched by Sarah’s friend, Rebecca Burdis, with the family’s approval. The campaign aimed to provide support for Sarah’s family during this challenging time, including assistance with funeral expenses and ongoing care for her children. The initiative has seen a tremendous outpouring of generosity, with donations exceeding £3,700.
Sarah’s influence and the positive impact she had on others have been evident through the flood of tributes that have poured in following her passing. Having battled cancer in the past, Sarah was remembered as a resilient soul who touched the lives of many. Her sister, Gabriella, described her as “an amazing person inside and out”, promising to ensure that Paige and Zaine are cared for and supported in a manner that would make Sarah proud.
The community has rallied together to offer support to Sarah’s grieving family, acknowledging the enormous gap left by her sudden departure. Sarah’s funeral is set to take place at the crematorium in Northop Hall on October 10, where loved ones will gather to honour her memory and bid her farewell.
As friends, family, and well-wishers continue to mourn the loss of Sarah Thompson, the solidarity and compassion displayed within the community serve as a testament to the enduring impact she had during her time on Earth. May her legacy of love and devotion live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and may her children find solace and strength in the outpouring of support from those around them.
