Man in hospital after serious assault in supermarket car park

A 40-year-old man has been taken to hospital after a serious assault in a supermarket car park in Cardiff. The incident occurred in the car park of the Tesco Superstore in the St Mellons area of the Welsh capital on Friday night. South Wales Police responded to the scene, cordoning off a section of the car park for investigation purposes.

Police have confirmed that the man was taken to hospital following the assault, with an ongoing investigation in progress, although no arrests have been made as of yet. A police spokeswoman stated, “South Wales Police is investigating a serious assault which happened at approximately 9.15pm on Friday (October 4) in the car park of Tesco St. Mellons, near to the Willows Pub. A 40-year-old man is in hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening at this time. Enquiries are ongoing to identify and arrest the suspects.”
