Europe’s largest cereal plant is set to be established in Wrexham following a hefty £75 million investment, leading to the creation of 130 new jobs. Kellanova, already a significant employer in the area, has revealed its plans for expansion, transforming the existing site into the largest cereal plant in Europe.
With an existing workforce of 350 employees, Kellanova’s expansion will introduce new sustainable production technology to the factory, enabling it to produce a remarkable 1.5 million boxes of cereal per day. The plant will focus on the production of renowned brands such as Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Crunchy Nut, and Special K, ensuring the continuation of UK production for these household favourites.
Wrexham Council has expressed its enthusiasm for the project, with councillor Nigel Williams, the lead member for the economy and tourism, hailing the investment as fantastic news for Wrexham.
