A woman’s traumatic experience with a hyaluronic acid Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure left her fighting for her life. The patient, who remains anonymous, underwent the BBL treatment but soon faced serious complications. Just six days post-procedure, she was rushed to A&E where doctors discovered a major haematoma, indicating internal bleeding. The practitioner had mistakenly injected a vein, leading to a severe bleed that ultimately caused sepsis, a life-threatening condition. The woman recalled the doctor warning her that without prompt medical intervention, she could have died.
Upon arrival at the hospital, she was in a critical state, disoriented, unable to stand or walk. She underwent emergency surgery to address the sepsis. The aftermath of the failed BBL procedure left her buttocks misshapen and drooping, impacting her physical appearance and mental well-being. In the following months, she endured further complications as the filler migrated to her leg, triggering another infection that necessitated an additional hospital stay of ten days. The filler had to be completely removed, leaving her disfigured.
