Planned roadworks may cause some traffic disruption across Wales this weekend. There are a number of long-running projects taking place which are worth knowing about if you’re planning to travel this weekend. Traffic sensor Inrix has a list of the closures.
A lane is closed in both directions on the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge due to resurfacing work. These works are taking place until October 17 and mean Wales-bound traffic is using one lane on the Wales side, and one on the English-bound carriageway. The England-bound side has two lanes running.
The A470 is closed in both directions between the Hereford turn off (Llanfilo) and Abergavenny turn off (Llyswen) due to water main work. That is until October 13. A4054 Upper High Street is closed, long term, due to work on the Heads of the Valleys Road. This is until December 2025.
A4061 Rhigos Mountain Pass is closed in both directions, also due to long-term work until the end of October. A480 at Lyonshall in Herefordshire is closed in both directions until November 24. However, there is some good news as weekend works have finished early on the A470 at Cefn Coed in both directions from the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road (Cefn Coed roundabout) to A4102 Swansea Road (Cyfartha Park roundabout).
These closures may impact travel plans, so it’s essential to stay informed about the ongoing roadworks to avoid any potential delays. Make sure to plan your routes accordingly to navigate around the affected areas. Stay updated with the latest traffic news and developments to ensure a smooth journey while travelling across Wales this weekend.
