Ringo Starr health update after shows cancelled due to illness

Beatles legend Ringo Starr has been forced to cancel the remainder of his American tour due to illness, providing fans with a health update. The 84-year-old musician had to call off his performance in Philadelphia and subsequently decided to cancel the much-anticipated show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

A statement shared on social media explained that Ringo had caught a cold and, after consulting with a doctor, was advised to rest and cancel the two remaining shows. Ticket holders for the cancelled events are being offered refunds as the musician prioritises his health. Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band had already completed 10 performances across the US, with their last show in Niagara Falls, Ontario, on September 22.

Despite these setbacks, Ringo has been keeping busy with his musical projects. In April, he released an EP titled ‘Crooked Boy,’ featuring contributions from Nick Valensi of The Strokes. In an interview with Variety, Ringo discussed his songwriting approach and his desire for more positive and rock-oriented tracks in his music.

The legendary drummer shared his philosophy on songwriting, aiming to include a positive outlook in his songs, even when addressing darker emotions. He emphasised the importance of balancing emotions and finding moments of light within his music. Ringo also expressed his desire to incorporate more rock songs into his repertoire, collaborating with artists like Linda Perry to achieve that goal.

As fans eagerly await Ringo Starr’s return to the stage, they can appreciate his dedication to his craft and his commitment to delivering uplifting music. Despite facing health challenges, the iconic musician remains focused on spreading peace and love through his artistry, leaving a lasting impact on music lovers around the world.
