Louise Speed, the widow of Wales legend Gary Speed, has found love again with businessman Andrew Dickens. Louise, 53, was left heartbroken after the death of her husband in 2011 and then suffered further tragedy when her second husband, Quinton Bird, died from brain cancer just six months after their wedding in 2021. However, she has now found happiness once more with Dickens, 45.
The property tycoon told The Mail: “Funnily enough we are from the same small village in North Wales and only lived a few hundred yards from each other. It was only in recent years that we became good friends.” A family member confirmed that the couple are now living together in Wrexham and are currently enjoying a holiday in the South of France.
Louise, who has also entered into business with Dickens, was devastated by the loss of her first husband, football icon Speed, in 2011. They had been together since they were 15. She found love again with Bird 10 years later, and they married at a Cheshire castle in November 2021. Tragically, he passed away just months later from an aggressive brain tumour.
Reflecting on the passage of time, Louise observed: “But we are 10 years on now. It’s a cliche but time is a healer even if it takes years. I have learned that life can be good again, can be great again.” She also spoke about personal growth and change, saying: “I don’t think you move on from something like this as the same person. I have become wiser. I am probably more confident than I was.”
In conclusion, Louise expressed her desire for self-protection, stating: “I just want to protect myself from life. I don’t want to feel or go through anything like that ever again. I hope that makes sense.”
Louise Speed’s story is one of resilience and hope as she navigates through personal tragedies, finding love and happiness once more. Her journey serves as an inspiration to many who have faced similar challenges in life.
