‘Kindest taxi driver ever’ died of multiple traumatic injuries in crash

The inquest into the death of Christopher Boyle in a tragic late-night crash has revealed that the “kindest, funniest, most genuine and helpful taxi driver ever” succumbed to multiple traumatic injuries. The incident, which occurred on the A4139 at Penally near Tenby, resulted in Mr Boyle’s untimely passing at the age of 57. Emergency services were alerted to the crash at 10.10pm on the evening of September 2, and upon their arrival, it was confirmed that Mr Boyle had tragically lost his life at the scene. PC Carrie Sheridan, the coroner’s officer for Dyfed-Powys Police, informed the inquest that a post mortem examination determined Mr Boyle’s cause of death as “multiple traumatic injuries” sustained in a road traffic collision.

Originally from Ebbw Vale, Mr Boyle had been residing in Kilgetty where he worked as a local taxi driver. His family remembered him as a beloved son, dad, brother, uncle and friend, affectionately known as ‘Mucker’ to his close circle. Known for his active involvement in the community and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, Mr Boyle touched the lives of many. Following his passing, heartfelt tributes poured in for him, with Tenby Taxis, the local taxi firm, expressing their profound sadness at his loss and praising him as an irreplaceable figure within the taxi community.

Mateusz Sikorski, aged 30, appeared in court charged with causing death by dangerous driving in connection with Mr Boyle’s death. The court proceedings saw Mr Sikorski remanded in custody, with his next appearance scheduled at Swansea Crown Court on October 7. Due to the ongoing police investigation and legal proceedings, the acting senior coroner adjourned the inquest into Mr Boyle’s death to a later date to allow for the necessary inquiries to be completed.
