All three teams have had one pre-season fixture each and head into competitive action with the first round of the league kicking off a week today.
Cardiff’s next match will be against a strong Munster side at our local Arms Park, the Scarlets face a Welsh derby against the Ospreys, who have had their two pre-season matches.
Cardiff Rugby confirmed in a statement their game against the Italians would not go ahead, adding: “At this sad time, the thoughts and condolences of all at Cardiff Rugby are with the Royal Family, as we share in the nation’s collective grief.”
The Dragons said: “As a mark of respect, and to acknowledge the sad passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, tonight’s pre-season friendly with Scarlets has been cancelled.
The Scarlets added: “Our thoughts at the Scarlets are with the Royal Family at this sad time.”
