Today’s headlines include the arrest of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in a sex trafficking case. The Manhattan federal Magistrate Judge has ordered Combs to be held without bail after facing charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. Despite pleas of not guilty and offers of bail from Combs’ lawyers, the judge ruled that he is a danger to the public and a witness in the case. The next hearing is scheduled for September 24, with Combs currently detained.

In weather news, the Met Office forecast indicates a cloudier start to the day in many areas, but fog is expected to lift by mid-morning, leading to a fine afternoon with sunshine. Temperatures are set to reach a maximum of 21°C. The night will stay dry initially with clear skies, but cloud cover is expected to increase from the east overnight with some patchy drizzle. Minimum temperatures will be around 6°C in the west.

In other news, a missing mum’s body was found under rubbish in a garden, while pub owners are being urged to reduce the size of ‘pints’ following a trial that saw no complaints.
