5,000 jobs up for grabs as chain launches recruitment drive

Pizza chain Domino’s is set to create 5,000 job opportunities across the UK and Ireland in the upcoming months. The company, listed in London, aims to hire delivery drivers, in-store staff, and pizza makers to bolster its current workforce of 35,000 employees in preparation for the peak trading season. Although Domino’s experienced a decline in orders in the first half of 2024, citing a sluggish start to the year, the company revealed a renewed customer confidence in August which they hope will drive stronger sales with improved pricing strategies.

With 1,344 locations spread across the UK and Ireland, Domino’s noted lower food and energy costs, partially offset by an increase in the national living wage. The pizza giant anticipates the need for additional workers, fondly referred to as “Dominoids,” as they gear up for their busiest trading period towards the end of the year. Nicola Frampton, the chief operating officer, expressed the company’s optimism and attributed their success to the hard work of their dedicated team members, inviting individuals interested in various roles to consider joining their team.

Chief executive Andrew Rennie shared that after the initial sluggish phase, orders picked up over the summer months, particularly during the Euro 2024 football tournament. Additionally, Domino’s remained committed to its expansion plans by opening more stores, with around 60 new sites launched last year and expectations to exceed that number with 70 new stores planned for the current financial year. The recruitment drive comes as part of the company’s strategic initiatives to sustain growth and meet increasing customer demand.

Domino’s emphasised that whether applicants are seeking roles as in-store team members, delivery riders, or store managers, there are job opportunities available. The chain expressed gratitude for the dedication of its existing team members and eagerly looks forward to expanding its workforce to support its growth trajectory. Interested individuals are encouraged to explore the various positions offered by Domino’s as the company prepares for a bustling end-of-year period and aims towards further success in the market.
